The Medical Capital Innovation Competition is an interactive two-day event that rewards the best innovations in healthcare IT with:
Professional and collegiate teams should come prepared to present their solutions in collecting, managing, analyzing and optimizing data; and developing IT technology to meet critical healthcare challenges.
Prepares the teams to compete effectively through refining their pitches, working with mentors, and networking with industry experts and funders.
Each team will have 10 minutes to present their pitch and 5 minutes to field questions from the judges.
The 2nd Annual Medical Capital Innovation Competition (MCIC2) is a two-day business plan competition open to professional and collegiate teams from around the world that are working with big data, artificial intelligence, enhanced reality and other disruptive technologies to improve healthcare. $100,000 in prizes, mentoring, and access to business advisors, including world-class healthcare systems and collaborators, will be awarded. MCIC2 is presented by BioEnterprise in partnership with the Global Center for Health Innovation (Global Center), Cuyahoga County, and Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and takes place at the Global Center for Health Innovation (Global Center) in Cleveland, Ohio on April 23-24, 2018.
Applications are accepted from January 8, 2018 thru March 16, 2018. Submissions are accepted into the Competition on a rolling basis.

Applications will be reviewed by a selection committee and, if chosen, invited to compete at the Medical Capital Innovation Competition. The selection committee will consider the following criteria when evaluating applications:
The Medical Capital brings together Cleveland’s clinical, educational, and research institutions, philanthropies, government, and economic development engines. The initiative provides a platform to connect, collaborate and to think of the region’s biomedical and healthcare assets as a single entity that is greater than the sum of its parts. Convened by BioEnterprise, the initiative promotes the vibrant biomedical and healthcare industry in the 18-county Northeast Ohio region. The Medical Capital includes more than 700 biohealth companies, 30 clinical, research and educational institutions, $735 million annually in research funding, and more than $200 million annually in private startup funding.
